Cookie policy
Last updated 14 May 2026.
We try to keep cookie use to the minimum needed to run Practiva safely. This page explains what we set, why, and how you control them under UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember things like whether you’re logged in. Similar technologies (local storage, session storage) work in roughly the same way.
How we categorise cookies
We split cookies into three types:
- Strictly necessary — required for the site to work. Cannot be turned off; do not require consent under PECR.
- Functional — remember non-essential preferences (e.g. dismissing this banner).
- Analytics — help us understand how the site is used. Only set after you opt in.
We do not set advertising or third-party tracking cookies. We have no Facebook Pixel, no Google Ads tags, no Hotjar, no LinkedIn Insight.
Cookies we set
Strictly necessary
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| sb-*-auth-token | Keeps you signed in to your Practiva account (set by Supabase). | Session / 1 year |
Functional
| Item | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| practiva_cookie_consent | Records your cookie preferences so we don’t ask again. | 12 months |
Analytics (opt-in only)
We currently do not run any analytics or tracking scripts. If we add a privacy-respecting analytics tool (e.g. Plausible, Fathom) in future, we’ll update this page and ask for fresh consent before any analytics cookies are set.
Cookies on your Practiva-hosted website
Your own published Practiva website (at yourname.practiva.io or your custom domain) sets no cookiesby default. If we add features that require cookies on your published site, we’ll let you know in advance and you can opt out.
Changing your preferences
You can change your cookie preferences at any time by:
- Clicking “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page (coming soon — until then, clear cookies for practiva.io and you’ll see the banner again).
- Adjusting your browser settings to block or delete cookies — note this may affect site functionality.
